Hello Mr. Dill. I must ask you. In your talks with George Bailey, did he ever mention being at Bikini Atoll, Eniwetok in the South Pacific? I am looking for a gentleman who worked with my father there in 1958 also named George Bailey. PLease let me know if you are able. I live in Southern California. My dad passed away back in 2001. I have pictures of him and some of his crew there at Eniwetok. Would love to find some of them. Thanks.

George has been my nieghbor for over 17 years and has proved both a valuable friend and opponent. I have very fond memories of sitting on his veranda, sipping lemonaide and listening to him wax eloquent on so many topics. I will miss walking by his house and hearing Gershwin or Basie or any of the other great music that used to come from his piano. Nice piece Stephen–he was a great guy.

It’s been more than fifteen years since my family lived in Sharon and most of us have moved on to points far and wide (though one is just down the road a piece), but people like George are never forgotten, and their equal is not found far and wide. George was a fine and warm person. He’s missed by someone up here in Vermont.
